Privacy Policy

The short version

There is no account, so there is no profile, no email address and no password. Your conversations are not broadcast, sold or published. What we do keep is the minimum needed to run the matching, to keep the service usable, and to remove people who abuse it.

Everything below is the detail.

1. What we do not collect

  • No name, email address, phone number or password — there is no sign-up.
  • No payment information — anyppl is free and takes no payments.
  • No address book, no social accounts, no advertising profile.
  • No transcript of what you say out loud.

2. What we do collect

Technical information about your connection. Your IP address is used to derive an approximate country, to route the connection, and to apply rate limits and blocks. We do not store your IP address as part of a user profile.

A device signature. Your browser produces a fingerprint — a value derived from device and browser characteristics — which lets us enforce one session per device and keep out people who have been removed for abuse. It does not identify you as a person and is not shared with third parties for advertising.

Your settings. Language, country and interest preferences, chosen gender and who you want to meet, plus which camera and microphone you selected. These are stored in your browser and sent to our servers so the matching can use them.

Reports and safety records. When someone is reported, we keep a record of the report, including evidence of what was reported, so a decision can be made and enforced.

Automated safety checks. To keep prohibited content off the service — particularly anything involving minors, or sexual content — images from video sessions may be analysed automatically. Material that a check flags may be retained and reviewed so that the account can be actioned and, where the law requires it, reported to the appropriate authorities. This is a safety mechanism, not a record of your conversations: material that is not flagged is not kept.

Aggregate usage figures. Counts of users online, sessions, and countries, in a form that describes the service rather than any individual.

3. What happens to your video and messages

Video, audio and typed messages travel directly between the two participants using WebRTC wherever the network allows it. When a direct connection is not possible, traffic is relayed through a server so the call can still work; a relay passes the encrypted media through without storing it.

We do not record conversations, and we do not keep your messages after a session ends.

4. Storage in your browser

anyppl stores a small amount of data in your browser: your settings, the record that you confirmed you are 18 or over, and a timestamp so a safety notice is not shown to you repeatedly. Clearing your browser storage removes all of it.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Third parties

  • Cloudflare — hosting, delivery, and a bot check (Turnstile) that runs before a session starts. Cloudflare processes connection data on our behalf.
  • Relay servers — used when a direct peer-to-peer connection cannot be established, as described in section 3.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

6. How long we keep things

  • Settings: in your browser until you clear them.
  • Connection and rate-limiting data: short-lived, and expired automatically.
  • Reports and safety records, including anything a safety check flagged: kept for as long as needed to enforce a decision and to prevent the same person from returning.
  • Aggregate figures: kept indefinitely, because they describe no one.

7. Your choices

  • Use the settings panel to change or clear your preferences at any time.
  • Clear your browser storage to remove everything stored locally.
  • Revoke camera and microphone access in your browser at any time; anyppl stops working, which is the intended result.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold. Because there is no account, we may need information from you to locate any record before we can act on such a request.

8. Children

anyppl is for adults only and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly keep information from a minor; where we identify one, the session is ended and the device is blocked.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top changes with it.
